Martin Sheen played the character because of whom I decided to watch this film to the end. Other than that, I don’t understand why somebody has the tendency to turn the same old story into the same old movie thousand times over.

It's one of those nice family films where you hope for a happy outcome, and it simply can't end any other way. Anne is a somewhat unwanted orphan who moves in with her aging siblings. The problem is that they wanted a boy, but she's just so magical that they simply have to fall in love with her, just like the audience will at that moment.
