Despite the spiritual themes, Doing Good is about compassion. In her last film (Nowhere Home, GFF 2013), Margreth Olin followed unaccompanied minors in their uneasy wait for what would happen on the eighteenth birthday. Some were forcefully deported, then retuned to a life as a refugee. To get away from all the suffering she's witnessed and seek the opposite, she's approached Joralf Gjerstad. Joralf is a healer whose reputation has bread far outside the little village where he steadily lives. With a sure directorial hand, Margreth Olin portrays the meeting between Joralf and a number of people who've opted to meet him in hope of him being able to ease their pain. The result is an unusually hopeful and deeply moving film that you can't possibly resist. (Göteborg Film Festival)
