Café Waldluft

For decades it was a family hotel, the starting point for walks into the Bavarian mountains. Today tourists annually heading to Berchtesgaden are in for a surprise, Café Waldluft has turned into a special place. Its owner, the jovial Austrian "Mama Flora", has decided to accommodate only asylum seekers. The hotel has become a temporary home for those who have fled for safety and a better life. They assist with its operation, serve the guests of the restaurant, interact with the locals and meanwhile wait for the official handling of their cases.
