angol Fassbinder's entry into the world of feature films foreshadows the rest of his work with its originality and daring unconventional approach. A comparison with Godard is appropriate in many ways. Although Fassbinder naturally followed in his footsteps in the place where he was in the second half of the 1960s, Godard himself made his debut with a film that, on the contrary, included fast, fresh editing and tracking of the characters' inner lives through their typically Godard-esque ambiguous and, at first glance, sometimes banal and mysterious dialogues as the main sources of his success. In Fassbinder's debut, one cannot deduce what is happening in the inner world of the main trio of characters from their fossilized faces, not even the best psychoanalyst. Thus, all that remains is to observe the long shots of the camera, the play of contrasts between black and white, and the gangster story "about friendship, love, and betrayal". That is more than enough. Additional information: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLQwe1LcvsI ()
