angol Interesting in its premise, bashful in conveying it. A thriller about the handicapped Gina who is blind but an operation keeps her hopeful, at least as one eye goes. I personally admire every movie with a handicapped lead. It’s just a shame that the rest looks like it’s patched up from romance novels and Fifty Shades of Grey. Unnecessary amount of sex scenes, not enough suspension, far too many relationship twists and turns and a claustrophobic feeling attempting to completely ruin the movie for you. A shame, because visually, it had some nice moments. ()

angol It’s hard to say what’s worse. Whether it's that this movie totally flopped in US theaters so Europe won't even know about it, or that a sound director actually made a pretty decent film, only that it has a bit of a convoluted shell and most people will need the storyline explained via spoilers on the internet. The pros are the following: Blake Lively chooses ambitious projects with the potential for interesting dramatic roles. She managed to do that in Age of Adeline and wants to successfully follow it up here, albeit only halfway. For reasons unknown, Marc Forster intersperses a dramatic film with a good and strong storyline with hard-to-grasp surrealistic or fanciful motifs that don't make much sense and don't even fit the concept, but he still holds the directorial reins tightly and lets the actors shine. Jason Clarke and Blake Lively are superb, the rest are forgettable. The emotional spiral of a disintegrating relationship, which is smoothly, almost imperceptibly followed by the intrigues and deceptions of both of the couple, is excellently portrayed and believable in most situations. So why did it flop with audiences? Probably because a certain variety of fan likes a lot of question marks with no straight answers, but it all has to make sense if the recipient in question is attentive in their viewing. Here, however, even full attention is not enough to solve the case correctly. There is too much noise, volatile moments and screenwriting flourishes, so that during the credits the viewer doesn't really know where they are and they have to read the text of the story as the filmmaker intended it on the internet. How to rate something like this? ()

angol A young woman is married and seems to be quite happy, except for the fact that she is blind. But then a miracle happens and she starts to see again. It's as if she’s now perfectly happy. Except maybe her marriage isn't so perfect. I think this was a missed opportunity to make a really interesting film... The foundation is good, but the development is not. ()
