Nat (Jonathan Pryce) runs a local bakery in London, whose family recipes are struggling to keep customers against the threat of big business. With some help from his community however, including the romantic interest of Joanna (Pauline Collins), Nat may be able to overcome the odds against him. Some of the shots captivate me with their simplicity, their lightness, and how they portray interesting characters. "Dough" may be somewhat too simple, too naive, but the idea that a Jew and a Muslim run a bakery together is beautifully utopian and touching. It works so well thanks to the actors.
