West Germany, 1967: Scholars Martin and Ruby are infected by their generation's new swing.They dig Beat music with enthusiasm, love each other to the full, and inhale the upcoming spirit of a revolution against the old fashioned, narrow minded parent generation. But the lovers underestimate West German reality's rigidity: The patriarchal system reacts to their life style with convent schools and juvenile homes ‒ places, where Martin and Ruby encounter archaic conditions.
