A Térség (2015)

angol I've always been a big fan of The Expanse, and still am because it's one of those rare sci-fi series that stays true to its genre throughout. Sure, there were moments where the creators veered off into tear-inducing melodrama, a trend particularly popular in the States, but they always managed to find their way back. After the second-to-last season, I wasn't expecting any redemption, but it came, and boy, was it worth it. / Lesson learned: In unity there is strength, but how to maintain that unity? ()

Season 1 (2015) (S01)

angol The first season was far from disappointing, I had a great time. I liked how they grafted the detective genre onto a sci-fi, with both levels working very well. True, I did come across a few illogical moments, but I chose to ignore most of them. There are other series where they are impossible to ignore. I believe the creators managed to handle the political stratagems and loopholes between Earth, Mars and the Asteroid Belt very well. I'm curious to see how things will develop in Season 2. ()

Dulcinea (2015) (S01E01)

angol The first episode really drew me in to watch the series, even though I was a bit confused at first due to the quick changing of locations. Luckily, I quickly tuned in to the right wavelength, the story intrigued me, it had a nice atmosphere, and there was no shortage of suspense and action. Additionally, I found it amusing that even the United Nations have their own Guantánamo. ()

A nagy üresség (2015) (S01E02)

angol The second episode was slightly more restrained compared to the previous one in terms of action, but the story was still sufficiently interesting. I enjoy the combination of Sci-Fi and detective elements, which, after two episodes, seems completely functional to me. I firmly hope that they will continue to maintain the current quality. ()

Nem felejtünk, Cant! (2015) (S01E03)

angol This time, I had a really good time. The political situation started to reflect even more in everything, and the plot in the asteroid belt is beginning to remind me of cyberpunk, which is only good. I have to appreciate that the creators didn't resort to creating any extraterrestrial beings, so Martians look just like humans I can meet on the street. And Jared Harris also appeared, he always pleases me. ()

Közelharc (2015) (S01E04)

angol Torpedoes were flying, blue-flashing cannons were shooting, and only Captain Jason Nesmith and his fearless crew were missing aboard the Protector. Yeah, yeah, I found some places where the logic was missing, but on the other hand, Mormons are building their own ship, so it's fine. ()

Vissza a mészároshoz (2016) (S01E05)

angol The fifth episode mainly focused on Miller's investigation and after the previous episode, there was some calming down. There was less action, the firing of energy cannons disappeared, but the quality atmosphere returned. Miller obtained new information regarding his case and I learned something new about the bloody past of the Asteroid Belt. ()

A mélypont (2016) (S01E06)

angol As I mentioned earlier, I don't mind episodes with a slower pace if they have something to say, but this time I felt like I could do without this episode. Miller's conversation with Dawes and his subsequent last-minute rescue didn't fill me with any enthusiasm, and the events at Tycho station didn't convince me either. ()

Szélmalmok (2016) (S01E07)

angol To be honest, I enjoyed the seventh episode the most during the moments when Chrisjen Avasarala and her political moves were driving the plot. The events on board the Rocinante didn't grab me as much, and this time Miller was sidelined. And I really think that the creators should significantly reduce the last-minute rescues. 3*+ ()

Mentőakció (2016) (S01E08)

angol Finally, I've got another quality episode. In this case, I had a lot of fun. First, the creators managed to create an almost "Alien-like" atmosphere while exploring the depths of Anubis. There was also a lot of action on the Eros station and a strong ending. ()

Kritikus tömeg (2016) (S01E09)

angol If the previous episode had a strong ending, the ninth episode had a strong beginning. Julie Mao's final moments were very well executed and nicely illuminated some important moments for the viewer. The events on the Eros station gained momentum and I enjoyed the entire time. ()

Leviatán ébredése (2016) (S01E10)

angol The final episode disappointed me a bit. The storyline of Miller and Holden felt quite uneventful and even boring, and the group's move under Naomi Nagata's leadership wasn't anything special either. However, I was pleased with the open ending, or rather, open endings, at least I have something to look forward to. ()

Season 2 (2017) (S02)

angol The second season made a better impression on me than the first one. I felt that the creators already knew exactly what they wanted, and the story seemed more coherent despite its many storylines. What annoyed me were several major illogicalities (I ignored the minor ones), the quality control should have been more rigorous :-) ()

A széf (2017) (S02E01)

angol The first episode of the second season definitely did not disappoint me, it brought the same high-quality atmosphere, tension, and a decent dose of political maneuvering as the previous season. Additionally, it looks like Martians will have a bigger role in this series, which I might enjoy. I also enjoyed the events surrounding Chrisjen Avasarala, so the start of the season was good. ()

Ajtók és Sarkok (2017) (S02E02)

angol I liked the first episode, but the second one was even better by a class. The high-quality atmosphere remained, tension increased, but most importantly, there was a proper action including a battle of spaceships. The attack on the Spin station was well directed, and when I added Chrisjen Avasarala's political moves, the outcome was decided by a landslide. ()

A Zaj (2017) (S02E03)

angol Compared to the previous action episode, the third part was very calm, and because the repairs of Rosinante couldn't entertain me for too long, I was considering only three stars. But then Amos used his brain (!!), which intrigued me, Miller confused me, and I'm curious about what Chrisjen Avasarala will come up with, so it's 4*-. ()

Jó utat! (2017) (S02E04)

angol This time I didn't have to think about the rating at all, the result automatically emerged from the captivating plot. I enjoyed myself from beginning to end. Chrisjen Avasarala finally got on the right track, but the main thing was the very successful space action around Eros. Yeah, yeah, Doctors Without Borders evidently don't make kicks just on Mother Earth... ()

Otthon (2017) (S02E05)

angol The fifth episode was a calmer extension of the previous one, both together make for a well-balanced whole. The tension between Mars and Earth strongly reminded me of the Cuban Missile Crisis, where the Cold War almost turned into a damn hot one, and Miller is experiencing very close encounters... ()

Paradigmaváltás (2017) (S02E06)

angol The sixth episode disappointed me quite a bit, I spent way too much time with Mr. Epstein, the events on Tychus seemed uninteresting to me, and I had enough of the happenings on Ganymede. I'm really glad that the creators introduced me to the Martian Marines in such detail, it was not at all unnecessary. ()

A hetedik ember (2017) (S02E07)

angol This time it wasn't a big hit either, but compared to the previous episode, this part was significantly better. The events made more sense to me, even though watching the power struggle in the SVP is as entertaining as awkward debates in the European Parliament. Much funnier political negotiations took place on Earth, and I'm curious about what will actually come out of the events on Ganymede. ()
