Eleven year-old Tom often daydreams and is scared of lots of things. Not entirely without reason, for one day he meets a ghost in the cellar: Hugo, a horrible slime ghost who turns out to be lovely and harmless. But Hugo has got a serious problem: a very dangerous Ancient Ice Ghost has chased him out of his old house and now is haunting it. Tom finds the only person who can help now: Hetty Cuminseed, ghosthunter. The only problem is that Hetty hates children, slime ghosts and has just been fired for social incompetence by the Central Ghosthunting Institute. Not exactly the best basis to build a ghost fighter team to prevent the Ice Ghost from dooming the city. But at the end the power of friendship, courage and self-confidence of the oddish team will be stronger than the demon. (Berlinale)

A pretty decent family movie, where I liked the German actors. Well, I have a weakness for Karoline Herfurth, who simply captivates me just by being somewhere. She had a great role here, but the story overall was not that bad and it was kind of cute, as you would expect from a family movie. It becomes quite predictable towards the end, but why not.
