When Ricky Gervais get invited somewhere, he usually offends half of Hollywood. But when he’s shooting a comedy together with Hollywood, he’s usually holding his humor in check. But I must say that although I used to consider the humor of his comedies a bit mediocre, I got used to it and found Special Correspondents rather entertaining. Even though it is allegedly a remake. It was nice. The theme is great in itself and a few scenes, despite the general averageness, managed to elevate it to the fourth star. (2020.05.26)

I admit, this is quite disappointing. I expected a bit more humor and perhaps a more developed story from Ricky Gervais. With this, you simply know how it will turn out, which is a bit of a problem. The individual scenes are not sufficiently built up and the relationships seem rather trivial rather than in any way real. This didn't turn out very well. (2016.05.12)
