Alice, 30, is a sailor. Leaving her partner on dry land, she sets out to sea on an old freighter. Once on board, she learns that she is the replacement for a man who has just died and that the ship is captained by Gaël, her first love... What happens at sea stays at sea... Alice is a 30 year-old sailor, in love but unmarried. While her companion Félix waits for her ashore, she sets off as second mechanic on the Fidelio, an old freighter. On board, she discovers not only that she replaces a recently deceased mechanic, but also that the Captain is none other than her first great love, Gael. In her cabin Alice comes across the diary of the former mechanic, and by reading its content - accounts of technical problems, sexual conquests and lovelorn emotions - she finds, oddly, that they echo her own journey. As the ship calls on various ports, Alice deals with life aboard with an all-male crew and the swings of her romantic feelings, while trying to stay the course. (Cinemax)

A lone woman on a stormy sea holding onto the mast of a catamaran fishing boat. I’m not sure about you, but I was personally surprised that there wasn’t some sort of a narrator explaining that Alice is a nymphomaniac and she ventures onto the open sea to let water dogs nail her. The things that followed weren’t surprising at all and to be honest, I was mostly bored during the whole movie. Nothing that important was going on, there was nothing unexpected and the only good thing about it were the locations outside the fishing boat on which the movie took place most of the running time.
