Are only a few of Beijings former names. Beijing has once again reached the world stage. With the rise and falls of powerful dynasties and dictatorships, Beijing is the Chinese city that has undergone the most changes through its dramatic history.
Changes in living standards. Changes in values between the old and young. Changes from a closed to an open commercial city.
In Beijing – City of Changes you will be acquainted to what shaped and changed the city. We also get to know its most famous parts. As if all this were not enough, we will also meet some of the locals of Beijing, as the man whose family has lived in the Hutong area for generations. You will also get a glimpse into the traditional Chinese music, meeting some colourful artists, and take part of Beijing´s fabulous kitchen.
The aim of Beijing – City of Changes is to show how Beijing has changed during its turbulent history. The old monuments that have shaped the city are still there, but new modern monuments are built by the authorities.
