angol An excellent sequel, although it is quite unorganized. But after all, the absurdity in Peculiarities of the National Fishing is even more absurd, the philosophy even more eastern, and the paths of the protagonists even more erratic. Trying to catch fish and getting rid of a hideous vodka habit leads to a rather unexpected detour and an almost international crisis. But Finland seems to be a good strategic ally in the expansion of alcoholism, so the heroes' determination not to drink perishes, and the fireworks of incredible events begin. Rogožkin did not disappoint in any way, but he also did not surprise. IT MUST BE SEEN IN THE ORIGINAL VERSION, the dubbing takes the film's charm away. ()

angol It’s impossible to evaluate this truly peculiar morsel on the basis of its filmmaking qualities – they are not really important, present and, after all, not even desirable. The charm lies simply in the endless absurdity conveyed through vodka, drunken philosophy, and more vodka so convincingly and irresistibly that I suspect the filmmakers were not making an ironic comedy, but a serious sociological study of the drunken Nordic mood. Something that is certainly suggested by the performances, which seemed to be anything but sober, with a lot of crazy but dryly delivered jokes, and a level of self-mockery so voluminous that at times it's hard to believe that things are any different in reality during a Russian fishing trip. But mainly it's very funny and quite imaginative, notwithstanding the stagnant story, plus the absolutely amazing Czech dubbing. ()

angol It's not a bad comedy and it has its good moments, but it couldn't hold my attention enough to watch it all the way through. It wasn't so much the Russian nature and vodka, but simply the fact that everything revolved around one thing. But as I say, there are scenes that will really make you laugh and you will have something to laugh about. ()
