Obelix elmondja Asterixnek, hogy szerelmes, de érzelmeit nem meri a lánynak bevallani, mert túlságosan szégyenlős. Miközben a jó barát megpróbál önbizalmat önteni belé, Obelix tudomására jut, hogy a hölgy mást szeret, mégpedig a jóképű Tagicomixot. Hősünk összetörik a hír hallatára, de amikor az imádott lányt és annak kedvesét a rómaiak elrabolják, eljön számára a nagy lehetőség, hogy bebizonyítsa: ki a legény a talpán. Sok vidám kaland közepette Asterix és Obelix végre megtalálja a fogságba esett párt, akiket a rómaiak épp akkor akarnak Julius Caesar születésnapi ajándékaként az arénába dobni. (RTL Klub)

It's a bit better, but in my opinion what I wrote about Asterix the Gaul still applies: Asterix is better to read than to watch. Some of my friends, also Asterix fans, have the same opinion, so I hope I'm not being too subjective. The books are brilliant, the animated versions are botched, and Goscinny and Uderzo have disowned them.

“Dear boys..." Asterix and Obelix put a system of small “favors" into practice in their second best film adventure, this time in a hybrid based on several different instalments of the comic book at once. Although it still remains in a rather infantile style compared to the original comic books, but as a kid this and The Great Cheese Conspiracy were my favorite cartoons of all, so I forgive it any glitches. Of course, I am happy to add that it didn’t have many glitches anyhow.

Another one of those stories that I quite like and find entertaining. The whole story is actually just a journey towards rescue, but in the animation, you can see how it has evolved and is different from the previous film. Moreover, it also uses a different kind of characters - to the benefit of the matter. One of the better Asterix episodes.
