Michel is an serial womaniser and professional hustler. When he meets Gloria, she falls in love with him, just like the others. But this time, things will be different. Gloria finds her reason to live in Michel. Their love is passionate; limitless. When Gloria discovers Michel's hustling, she becomes his accomplice rather than risk losing him. Together they embark on a wild odyssey that becomes deadly and murderous. Their unfettered passions will drive them to the brink of insanity... ALLELUIA is the adaptation of a news event which shook the United States from 1947 to 1949: the story of Martha Beck and Raymond Fernandez, lovers and serial killers, whose infamous murders earned them the name 'The Lonely Hearts Killers'. angol Aah for ever and ever to live only with him! Why give up the desire... When Gloria looked into the camera with her wicked almond eyes in the opening, a laundry basket fell behind me all by itself. Well, what can I tell you, yogurt all over my shirt, heart rate in the uncountable range, nothing to brag about amongst the guys. Anyway, while Alleluia is a fairly likeable bizarro, it's surprising that it's fairly faithful to its subject matter. As a result, the film is doomed to do the same thing over and over again, and that's where Du Welz comes in with his grainy camera and his take on perception of cinematic space. The constant focus on details, underscored by the heightened sound, the "ugly" cast, and the psychopathic excesses elsewhere (the shabbat) create an awesome naturalism where in the background you hear the mischievous giggles of a grown man. angol (49th KVIFF) Don’t be afraid that this will be the ungratifying, non-genre experimental type of art that only art-educated viewers can appreciate. This one is a smart, out of the ordinary, emotional and slightly perverted brutal black comedy that I wasn’t expecting to disarm me so completely. When the first twist comes, after a relatively normal dramatic beginning, I started to have fun and laugh, and didn’t stop until the end. Du Welz at his best. ()
