51st KVIFF - it could be radically shortened, which would have helped its cause. The first half, in particular, feels dense at times, but things start to get interesting with the first conflict and the impression improves towards the end.

In some things overly schematic and, despite the solid sound mental wax, it doesn't keep its foot on the gas for the whole runtime, but the relationship and character drawing of the two central characters are excellent, and in addition to screaming passages, Van Groeningen is also able to handle quieter moments. Overall a nice hangover. #kviff2016

Recently, a second French, although in this case rather more Belgian film, which focuses on relatively young people, attempts to capture a certain atmosphere and actually also a time period. And it succeeds, just like the film "Après mai," but the characters simply fail to interest me, and neither does the story.
