In his latest film, director Krzysztof Zanussi returns to the core of his filmmaking – he poses crucial life questions and provokes discussion. He touches the issue of the role of God in today's world, he acutely perceives certain division of Poland into Catholic and "worldly", and he confronts his protagonist with two radially different opinions on the world. The clash of the different value systems is illustrated to the viewer through a love story of two young Catholics – Angelo from Italy and Katarzyna from Poland.
