A New York-i Mathias Párizsba utazik, miután megtudja, hogy egy tágas lakást örökölt az elhidegült apjától. A férfi azt reméli, hogy gyorsan túlad majd rajta, és utazhat haza, ám adódik egy kis gubanc. Kiderül, hogy a lakásban egy öreg hölgy, Mathilde él a lányával, és nincs semmilyen jogi lehetőség arra, hogy távozásra kényszerítse őket onnan. Miközben Mathias mindent megpróbál, hogy megszabaduljon az ingatlantól, többet tud meg Mathilde-ról, illetve az apjáról, mint azt valaha is gondolta volna. (MTVA)

A pleasant movie that reminds me of A Good Year in many regards. Only with the difference that A Good Year’s characters were way more likeable and the locations were one grade higher; I’m not saying that Kevin Kline didn’t put on a good show or that Paris was any less charming than the French countryside. It’s all about what personalities and what places I’m personally drawn to and My Old Lady is just on a different level in this regard. On the other hand, some of Kevin Kline’s business skills make me laugh to this day.

Such a pleasant story that will leave you with quite nice feelings and faith in better relationships between people, but still, these feelings will quickly disappear and it is quite possible that you won't remember much from the movie the next day. But that first impression, those first feelings are truly quite pleasant.
