Film noir in a modern interpretation, but not so much that it feels too cheap, rather it creates the right atmosphere. The detective is not exactly Marlowe, but not too far away from him either. He is appropriately tough, fearless, and has a dry sense of humor. This is a film that I had to like, thanks to its storyline, and I also enjoyed it.
