A César-díjas Mikrokozmosz nem szokványos természetfilm, inkább rovar-eposz, hősökkel, istenekkel. A film címe beszélő cím, a körülöttünk lévő mikrovilágot, magát a mikrokozmoszt teszi láthatóvá a biológus páros. A Mikrokozmoszban egy és negyed órán át minden szöveg, narráció, ismeretterjesztő információ nélkül élhetjük át az apró, fűközeli lények: rovarok, csigák, lepkék életét. Olyan ez a film, mint egy szimfónia vagy mint egy ősi mítoszokat rejtő képeskönyv. Nem természetfilm, nem dokumentum, nem ismeretterjesztő oktatófilm, hanem a valóság valószerűtlen látása, egy nem létező perspektívából való szemlélése, mely így egy valótlan valóságot teremt, ismert lényeket tesz idegenné, saját világunkat a képzelet alkotásává változtatja, vagyis ez a film - ahogy maga nevezi magát - "természeti fikció". A unique documentary with a pleasant insight and perfect technical aspect about an ordinary day in the grass behind our houses. Personally, from this team, I still like The Travelling Birds a little bit more.

Fascinating. And it almost managed without spoken word, thank goodness. Scenes with snails in love, fighting stag beetle or wasp larvae are among the best naturalistic moments I have ever seen. I also really liked the approach of the filmmakers, who obviously didn't lack insight, and thus the sequence with the rain reminds me of a war film, the dung beetle gives a performance comparable to the most famous die-hards (I personally thought of Robert de Niro in The Mission) and the final "mosquito uprising" is as if it were cut from a horror movie. Of course, Bruno Coulais is also "responsible" for the great experience, but the breathtaking nature of our planet still plays the main role.__P.S. I could have done without the spiders, but the sea snake building an underwater house out of air bubbles really took my breath away.
