A mókusok szeretnének nyugodtan élni. Számukra a nyugalom sok éneklést, sok evést és rengeteg rendetlenséget jelent, ám nevelőapjuk, Dave (Jason Lee) felforgatja a békés hétköznapokat. Meg akarja kérni a barátnője kezét, és hogy ne álljanak az új családja útjába, meg akar szabadulni a mókusoktól. Vagy hát... lehet, hogy mindez nem is igaz. A fékezhetetlen Alvin, Simon és Theodore néhány őrült félreértésnek köszönhetően mégis azt hiszi, hogy ez a helyzet és bármire hajlandó, hogy megakadályozza a kézfogót. Először is megszöknek otthonról, és hosszú útra indulnak, hogy előbb érjenek oda a választott nőhöz, mint Dave... és megakadályozzák a katasztrófát. Ami így aztán ki is tör. (InterCom)

Out of sheer despair, I played this movie since there was nothing else on TV that I haven’t seen. And now I know that I never want to see Alvin again, ever. It was only because of him that I got up from the couch I’d been chilling on and started doing things such as washing the dishes, putting the washed dishes away, mopping the floor, dusting the place… and I had come home from work looking forward to the TV lulling me to unconsciousness. It did not and on top of that I went to bed pissed because I got over being tired and I couldn’t fall asleep. Damn you Alvin!

Alvin and the Chipmunks for the fourth time? Well, I was just looking forward to Jason Lee, who was actually there minimumly. It's all about... well, actually, it's still the same thing. The trio does something, it causes a mess, and in the end, everything is actually fine and everyone loves each other. I'm tired of this already. The music aspect doesn't work anymore either.
