La partida

Reinier is crazy about football and dreams of a career that would take him out of the harsh life of poverty. He lives with his young wife and a baby, but by night, he earns a living as a rent-boy, waiting for rich tourists. His best friend from the football pitch, Yosvani, is engaged to an older, rich woman and lives at her father’s, for whose loan business he has to work. When unexpected feelings begin developing between the two boys and sexual tension hangs in the air, neither of them knows how to handle it. In the hostile environment of poverty-stricken Havana, while gay prostitution may be an acceptable way to make ends meet, homosexual relationships are strictly taboo and could be fatal. (Febiofest)
