John alig várja, hogy elölről kezdhesse életét, miután a börtön után hazatér az apjához és öccséhez. A helyi közösségben azonban a mai napig nem felejtették el mit tett, és nem bocsátottak meg neki. A visszatérése a legrosszabbat hozza ki mindenkiből, és lassan lincshangulat alakul ki körülötte. John mindinkább kezdi elveszíteni a reményt az újrakezdésre, és felerősödik benne az agresszió, ami miatt börtönbe került. And the Scandinavians did it again! Once again I came across a premise that induces depression in the viewer and on top of that presents a protagonist who, no matter how hard I tried pushing him with my thoughts, doesn’t really feel like expressing any emotions or feelings, which makes the movie even more depressing and unbearable. On the other hand, that’s the very reason why I like Scandinavian movies so much. They keep you in suspense until the closing credits. The only problem is that in this movie, nothing happened that would give us, the viewers, at least a glimpse of the intentions of the guy and of why he did what he did. And in the same way we still don’t know what he was thinking while doing it and that’s despite the fact that the actor put in an excellent acting performance. So, all that’s left now is sit here, look at the gray sky, try to force it to start snowing and ponder this psychological analysis that cannot be understood. It can only be accepted.
