angol I was very afraid of this sequel. I don’t understand where the creators come up with sequel ideas to legendary Czech films. However, when the sequel to The Inheritance was released this year, I would be lying if I said that I wasn’t curious about it. Especially considering the fact that Bolek Polívka wrote it himself again. And the result is not so bad. There are a lot of scenes drawing on the original movie, which could be expected. But there are also new scenes and ideas that will make you laugh in earnest. And since Bolek wrote it himself, I have a feeling that he put something from his own life into this. That’s why the story is probably taking place on “his” farm, and that’s why we see a lot of allusions to Bolek’s life in recent years. In any case, you can see that he did his best, as evidenced by the cast, which has not changed since the first part, just expanded with a few more interesting names. I’m also happy he didn’t succumb to melancholy much, as happened for example with the sequel to Snowdrops and Aces. Above all, I wanted to have a good laugh, and this movie delivered. So why not. ()

angol The film is largely asking for tabloid reading, so let's do it. Possible reasons for why is was created: a) Bolek Polívka's attempt to do something about his difficult financial situation, or b) Bolek Polívka's need to confess as a comedian who is no longer funny and can't even play himself as a clown (those who saw his sad performance in Ano, šéfe, probably know what I'm talking about). In the script, we don't find much connection to Věra Chytilová's subversive farce, except for the characters. It's more of a sentimental litany about alcohol, women and detachment from reality. The film does include a few jokes, but they are not particularly imaginative (situationally or verbally). The Inheritance or You Shouldn't Say That also deserves ridicule because it contains a few scenes in which Sedláček has stepped over the hitherto carefully observed limit of his popularity and fell into Troškov antics. I don't want to make fun of it. Watching people you feel sympathetic toward hit the bottom is not very pleasant, but on the other hand, if I strip away the fact that this film should have inherited something from Chytilová, it is in some ways a strangely authentic regretful confession of a man for whom the world ends in a fence with horses and badges on a vest, and who desperately longs for a kind of lost "cheerful innocence". It amounts sitting with a drunkard who has been humming wisdom and lamenting in your head for two hours... he’s pissing you off, but you have to admit that it fascinates you in certain ways. Due to the lack of points, I will add a few fragments that fell after the screening in the set Schmarc - Fila - Carpenter - Stejskal: "The Moravian Wolf of Wall Street", "A Film Beyond Good and Evil". angol I'm very sorry to give such a low rating because I was happy that Bolek Polívka finally got this film made, written and acted in it, and I hoped that it would succeed, entertain us and help him. But unfortunately, things are different. The jokes are woefully few, although occasionally some are good (the helicopter, golf...), the catchphrases are the same ("One is working and four are watching!", "The best view of the police is from the back of a horse...") and the film has an unexpectedly melancholic, bitter and sad feel, and one has to wonder how much of his life Polívka must have projected into it, as it takes place on his farm, his daughter plays his daughter... And so on. I wouldn't mind the melancholy, I would even welcome the whole second Inheritance to be in that spirit, but it then it have to not be spoiled by all the things around it - the awkward plot with the deception, the characters from the previous film who return just out of duty (Karel Gott lands in a helicopter, says hello, sings and is gone), the dance competition... More often than fun or emotion, boredom reigned. I'm really sorry it didn't work out.___P.S. But the final (and again melancholic) song is great. ()

angol This is a tragedy. It only has characters in common with the first movie, and that's about it. The fact that it is a poor social critique can still be somewhat endured, but the fact that it is a humorless film is really bad. Unfortunately, Bolek Polívka here is just an echo of his previous performance and even playing a more serious note doesn't work. Ridiculous... ()
