Raúl Ruiz's death left a void in the most transgressive fantastic cinema. A filmmaker who loved the world of ghosts, his presence has become, in itself, an invocation. It's a known fact that old rockers never die; maybe that's why Ruiz has given us one more work, with marked overtones of a testamentary film. La Noche de Enfrente follows the ups and downs of a man, on the verge of death, during three different stages of his life.
