angol I'm afraid that A Woman at Her Window is just plain leftist crap. It takes place between 1936 and 1967 (or 1936 to 1972 according to other sources) in Greece and France, and the only thing that makes it worthwhile is Romy in some of the costumes. But only in some of them because otherwise, it's the classic 1976 Romy, just like the entire film. Her impersonation of the double role of Austrian Margot Santorini and her own daughter is disproportionate to the entire ensemble. The question is whether she gave too much of herself to a film that didn't deserve it. The period set design, as always in these years, fails utterly, and the reunion of the Schneider-Noiret brand, which did not even wait for the impressions of The Old Gun to fade, is also odd. The absurd ending features the eternal quoting of Odysseus and Oedipus without any point. ()
