Soon Anna will finish up her military service and begin studying law. In the meantime, an officer has been accused of unnecessary violence against a Palestinian family while on duty in the Occupied Territories. The case, however, is supposed to become mired in the army’s daily routine and quickly evaporate. But the young military investigator, who has suffered discrimination while in the army because of her sex and Russian origins, decides to find out the truth and draw her own conclusions. In the end, Anna manages to induce young Sergeant Nimrod to testify, as well as his superior – experienced Company Commander Davidi. But how will the biased army establishment receive the results of the investigation when they long ago ceased differentiating between good and evil? Sharon Bar-Ziv’s directorial debut is a low-budget, psychological drama that banks on sober realism and a strong topic. (Karlovy Vary International Film Festival)
