A lonely composer commits suicide in his apartment. The gunshot alarms the tenants in the adjacent flats. Neighbor Aca is the first to arrive on the scene and, as the first witness, he decides to wait for the police. But the “protectors of public order” are stuck in traffic. So the neighbors pass the time as best they can, and eventually a wide variety of characters involved in the “case” make their way into the apartment. In this way, the director is able to draw on their behavior to weave a subtle mosaic of the “Balkan mentality” and of human nature in general. All the goings-on in the room are conveyed to the viewer via webcam, which the composer mounted on a tripod and pointed at the middle of the room before taking his exit. This original, low-budget movie, packed with snappy dialogue, is filmed entirely in one shot. The director commented on his chosen method with the words: “I recorded the story in one take in order to make an image of the hyper-realistic environment of the time and place I live in.” (Karlovy Vary International Film Festival)

angol Serbian films have blown me away with their Serbian Film so much that I was really hesitant to even watch a Serbian film for some time. I admit, there was a lot of “Serbian” in that sentence, but I gotta say that in my opinion, the connection between the movie and the country evokes originality; and this one is just as original. It’s all taking place in a single room and the camera focuses on this group of various Balkan characters with the effort to make you laugh. But apparently, the kind of humor is intentional and it took me a while to get used to it. After a while, though, it got wild. They were chatting by a corpse, eating, trading and nobody was offended. In the end, I gotta say that it was pleasantly amusing. ()

angol This movie was pretty weird and, above all, minimalist. One room, a camera of the kind I only know from amateur porn videos, few actors - it doesn't sound very enticing. But there is also a decent script, excellent sophisticated humor and well fleshed out characters. And, what's more, the quality work of the director, under whose supervision it all worked out perfectly. 4*+ ()
