Egy poszt-apokaliptikus jövő legnyomasztóbb szegletében Mindiglő Nina (Maiara Walsh) önként jelentkezik kishúga helyére a sokadik alkalommal megrendezett éhezők viadalán. Ennek során hátra kell hagynia pajkos barátját, Betyárkör Teót (Brant Daugherty), és össze kell fognia a stréber pék fiával, Halandzsával (Cody Allen Christian), hogy az életéért, egy régi sonkáért, egy félig megevett uborkáért és egy kuponos szendóért küzdjön. A film with such a title can either try to profit from similarities to "Hunger Games," either as a cheesy B-movie or as a parody. In this case, it's a parody. However, true parody means taking the whole story, replaying the scenes exactly, just with different actors, shortening it a bit so as not to call attention to it, and adding jokes to make it more entertaining, some of which may be quite good. There is some innovation in it, but very little. This simply isn't a parody that's worth it. The jokes may be okay here and there, but there is nothing else to it. A parody, at least for me, shouldn't just consist of copying most of the original plot.
