Hadimrška, an auditor, is sent to Prague. He is to reorganise Mr Zlatník's gramophone company so that it can repay its debts to the bank. The young owner has brought the company to the brink of bankruptcy by promoting the career of cabaret singer Mici Angora. Zlatník is hoping his financial straits will be resolved by marriage to Asta, daughter of the wealthy consul Vieland. He does not realise that Asta is not blindly longing for marriage and has joined the company incognito as a secretary. Zlatník ends his relationship with Mici and Asta falls in love with him. The uncompromising Hadimrška gets down to work: he decides to sell the villa that Zlatník bought Mici. Hadimrška becomes unexpectedly popular when Mici changes the words of one of her cabaret songs to include his name. When Hadimrška goes to seize the singer's villa, his nerve fails him. His suit soaked with water in a shower-bath, he is forced to flee in a woman's negligée, and the bank fires him. Mici finds a new lover - the consul. The gramophone company's fortunes revive with the new song about Hadimrška. Zlatník asks the consul for his daughter's hand in marriage. Hadimrška returns home in despair, where he is elected mayor on account of his new-found popularity. (forgalmazó hivatalos szövege)

This film is one of my childhood loves that helped me determine my life's calling. The congenial collaboration of Lamač, Frič, Burian, Rubík, Šlégl, Valentová, and Grossová is so dynamic that I find myself laughing through every rerun. The attentive viewer will also notice the musical theme from the previous film by Lamač, Frič, and Burian, which was led by Anny Ondra and called Him and His Sister. I recommend the German version as well. - - - A popular comedy with Vlasta Burian and Meda Valentová.

In this movie, you will hear such lines that Vlasta Burian can completely knock you down. He had an incredible gift to deliver even the craziest lines absolutely spontaneously, as if he were improvising. It is an absolute pleasure to watch him and just wait to see what he comes up with next. The story is not bad, only the end is kind of nondescript.
