In his latest picture, Filipino Auraeus Solito returns to his youth and to the mystical traditions of his homeland. Based on his own documentary about a clash between the natives and the greedy world, the film consists of a series of stories that are connected by fate rather than logic. The whispering of the sea and the sound of flutes tell the story of a young woman's mysterious disease about hurt and cure in a land where magic is still believed in. The camera lovingly floats through the beaches and woods, and shows the world of Shamanic rituals where nothing can be hurried and which must be protected from colonialism. (Febiofest)
