LOSING BALANCE is the story of a girl growing up in a family that is slowly falling apart. 14-year-old Jessika seems to be the heart, the soul and the conscience of her family but she is torn between being a child and her need for independence, rebelling against her parents and her desire for harmony. When her father loses his job, the veneer of family happiness begins to fade and the arguments between her parents escalate. It grows increasingly harder for Jessika to take, especially she is the only one trying to hold the family together. As the family plummets deeper and deeper into crisis, she has no choice but to witness her family's breakdown and an incomprehensible act. Her parents refuse to talk about or deal with what happened and try everything to keep up the front of a happy family.
