The reintroduction of Laser and Harvey into the third movie in completely different roles, and the presence of Six himself playing himself only leads to the film becoming a parody, intentional but simply not funny, not entertaining. It can shock. That is what Six is good at, and there are scenes here that manage to leave an impression on you again. Surprisingly, these scenes do not involve the centipede. Nevertheless, I can't help it, this just didn't work out anymore.

So, this is what happens when an absolutely below-average horror filmmaker gets drunk on fleeting fame and has his head stuck way up his own ass (probably following the example of the characters in his movies), then recycles his first movie with the same old ideas again and again, this time as an unbearably braying and embarrassing self-parody. Who exactly did Tom Six make this installment for? Fans of the first two installments with high hopes of seeing even more repulsive characters and even more intense gore than in the two movies will of course be disappointed by everything on offer here - the third installment is lacking both of those things completely. What is more, it is boring. The vast majority of the movie is dominated by excessive scenes with the very loud performance of Dieter Laser, and I was ashamed to be watching something like that. While Human Centipede 2 was the inevitable result of incredible demand after the first movie, third film is just an unwanted piece of self-indulgence by the pretentious director with hardly any redeeming qualities.

What to do with a horror film that’s not scary? What to do with an exploitation flick that’s not unsettling? What to do with a comedy that’s not funny? What to do with a satire that doesn’t hit the target? A simple answer: don’t watch it. If anything, it should be acknowledged that each episode of The Human Centipede is different, and Final Sequence takes things in a self-parodying and satirical way. Six unfortunately (for me) is on a different humour wave than I, so the comedy lead by the overly dramatic performance of Dieter Laser felt incredibly cringe-worthy (really, some of his screaming deliveries made me feel almost sorry for the creators), and he also lacks the intellectual capacity to deliver a non-banal and non-shallow satire about the socio-political situation in the USA. Or at least he didn’t show it in this film.
