Maruska, an eighteen-year-old girl living with her grandfather Vlastimil, has one desire: to meet her dream prince and experience a romance she'd only known from movies. And she does meet him. She and Marek spend a wonderful vacation together and she lives her first love adventure as well as the first disappointment... Maruska's grandpa is the next to find out that true love never fades away. After decades, he meets his old flame Libuska; the two act like young fools in love. It's an affair with a marijuana scent: the witty and distinctive retired woman has sunk into this healing herb... Maruska's neighbor and best friend is Honza. His mom Zdena walks in on him when he's kissing another man in a car. The successful manager is not coming to terms that her son is not straight and decides to turn him into a “normal guy”. Which just brings a heap of comical situations. At least Karel, Honza's dad, finds sympathies for his son. Karel is an ex-footballer, currently just a serviceman at the stadium. Beside his dominant wife, he lives a life of a timid man who – supported by alcohol – plucks up the courage for a failed home revolt from time to time... (forgalmazó hivatalos szövege)

angol The plot is not too complicated, but due to the relatively large number of characters on which the story focuses, there is not just one clear main character, which complicates the whole story a bit and actually makes us missing one storyline, as there are several of them here. The first one is the story of a blind girl who is loved by a Romani boy. Yes, it doesn't sound beautiful. Disability and race difference in one relationship. This means that there will of course be moving scenes, just as there will be moments when the boy suffers from prejudice. The film portrays Czech people as racists, but on the other hand, it is quite one-sided in this theme. More: http://www.filmovy-denik.cz/2013/02/laska-je-laska-2012-55.html ()

angol Listening to Milan Cieslar speak was just horrible. How can anyone fall like that? Anyway, we have a new great pair of romcoms in the Czech style. In short, films that we simply don’t need. ()
