angol A series of twenty approx. five-minute episodes of an animated comic book about the Dark Knight where the black-and-white stylization (but different in every part), omnipresent darkness and the wonderfully depressing atmosphere of a city where “everything is rotten" play center role. A sort of Batman-esque variation on the very noir Sin City. But in view of the length of the episodes it’s obvious that there are no grand circles or development in the story. It’s more a series of situations and moments. Even so, these often contain an interestingly handled idea or punchline, sometimes original. Unfortunately, not always, and so several episodes end up almost the same, just in a different wrapping. But they are worth watching even so, because these are primarily (or only) seemingly the same, but twenty times over with different stylization and atmosphere. The trio of best episodes: Two of a Kind / Case Study / Good Evening Midnight ()
