angol I didn’t want to sleep at night, so I played Tom Hanks’ directorial debut. And I have to say that I didn’t enjoy this drama at all. I’ve become accustomed to watching Tom in epic movies or at least movies where he has a chance to play quite unorthodox roles. But when he plays an ordinary person, in an ordinary world with ordinary people, somehow it’s just not right. Nevertheless, I have to admit that he was quite charismatic in this movie, even though the whole thing was boring. ()

angol This is a dramedy that's far too similar to real life. It’s bitter, true, and deadly depressing. However, a few great gags brighten the day, as well as an iced drink, the speaker's scripts, which are simply the best (because they're his), and the immortal difference between Star Wars and Star Trek. angol From time to time I am in the mood for these true American stories, where everything turns out good and the main character is so likable and good-looking that he could be played by none other than Tom Hanks. And when he is joined (unlike his role in Charlie Wilson's War) by the very likeable Julia Roberts, we get a sweet, funny and reassuring romance. Plus great music by Tom Petty and others. ()

angol Tom Hanks is an incredible gentleman, to the point where one might feel the urge to have some alcohol while watching the movie "My Beautiful Teacher" in order to prevent a tie from growing around their neck and to keep all profane expressions from disappearing from their vocabulary. The legendary actor made a film for himself, which I would describe as a small film about a small person. However, I would have preferred to see Hanks as a small person in a big film. Of course, I'm referring to "Forrest Gump," a film that ranks high on many personal lists, while others refuse to watch it on principle. His character Larry Crowne is a guy who suffers from the fact that the economic crisis has led to changes in companies that want even more college graduates. Those who don't have a degree are simply out of luck. Larry Crowne is fired, lives alone, and his life seems bleak, but thanks to Hanks' face, you still feel that he is actually happy. But he only finds true happiness when he becomes close to his communication/conversation teacher. Although she is married, she is definitely not happy. But she can relax because the film is so incredibly saccharine that there is a happy ending for everyone. Except for her husband. There is hardly any spark between Hanks and Roberts in the film, but it's clear from the poster that those two have to end up together, so why bother. She gets drunk one night, they start kissing, and that's enough for the spark, even though the film presents itself as a melodramatic romantic comedy. You probably won't be completely bored, you will sigh over how beautiful it can actually be, and you will wonder if they will end up together in the end. Yes, all of this can happen to you if you haven't seen any romance before. Hanks did not disappoint as an actor, but as a director, he didn't show much either. He can produce peacefully, but as a director, he should try to choose better scripts and handle them better. This way, one gets the feeling that he is just selling his name.
