Felix sikeres építész, aki egy hatalmas, többszintes házban lakik egyedül amióta barátnője otthagyta. A szakítást még nem dolgozta fel, magányosnak érzi magát, idegileg kimerült, és kezdődő paranoiában szenved. Egy napon beenged egy férfit telefonálni, udvariasan egy másik szobába húzódik vissza, amikor pedig újra kimegy, az idegent már nem találja ott. Attól a naptól kezdve furcsa hangokat hall, mintha valaki zuhanyozna, főzne, beszélgetne vagy lépkedne, és rájön, hogy olyan hatalmas a ház, hogy akár ketten is lakhatnak bent úgy hogy soha ne találkozzanak. Az igazság azonban nem hagyja nyugodni, a pince pedig különös titkokat rejteget. (Cinetel)

A beautifully atmospheric and at times a pretty tense and unclassifiable film. Until about the middle, I didn’t have any complaints whatsoever, I hadn’t felt that tense in a long time, but then the plot goes in a completely different direction, which, despite the irrational behaviour of the protagonist, would have been fine if there was something that would explain it, like a twist. Unfortunately, there is no twist and the film closes with the most banal ending ever, which makes me feel that The Uninvited Guest is not a Lynchesque mystery that you have to put together piece by piece to gradually reveal its meaning, but actually just a film with a weird script lacking any hidden meaning – it’s just weird. Regardless, it’s worth watching, the tension in the first half is guaranteed.
