After America's teens made Where The Boys Are a breakthrough hit, two of that comedy's stars, Connie Francis and Paula Prentiss, reunited for this follow-up that, like its predecessor, relies on Francis' mighty pipes for song and on romantic mix-ups and mismatches for laughs. The girls (Janis Paige and Danny Robin round out the quartet) are glamorous, but even they can't out-wow the scenery: Nice, Cannes, Santa Margherita Ligure and white-sand-fringed, brilliantly blue Mediterranean. Classic American positive war propaganda made immortal by the performances of Marlene Dietrich and Orson Welles. Their magic act captures the status of both of them at that time, i.e., a magician and an A-list star with the best legs. ;) In private they were friends and when Orson needed help finishing Touch of Evil, it was Marlene who immediately rushed over, didn't want any money, and wonderfully recycled her costume from Golden Earrings.
