Lindsay és Jenny, a két amerikai lány Európában utazgat. Németországban autóznak, amikor egy erdőben gondjuk támad a kocsijukkal. Gyalog indulnak útnak, hogy segítséget kérjenek, és hamarosan egy elszigetelt, magányos házra bukkannak. A tulajdonosa, Dr. Heiter meginvitálja őket egy italra, amíg a segítség megérkezik. A lányok későn jönnek rá, hogy valami nem stimmel az orvossal. Másnap a félelmetes pincében ébrednek, ami kórháznak van berendezve. Technically, it’s average, maybe even below-average, but its incredibly insane premise pulls it up. This film gave me a disturbing feeling from beginning to end, and I still have it now when I think about it. I don’t think anyone can come up with anything worse than the fate of one of the doctor’s victims. PS: I don’t even want to guess what Tom Six will come up with for the sequel (Full Sequence).

This was completely idiotic. At some points I even felt like throwing up. The premise was simply amazing: a doctor decided to create a human centipede so he connected people through their mouths and asses. Were I the first in the centipede, the person behind me would have their mouth full of shit all the time.

The “Barker-like” idea is brilliant, the execution, on the other hand, it’s worse. Much, much worse. Like most ideas born at the pub, actually.

From pervert to perverts. Ethically, an unwatchable atrocity, but from a horror fan's perspective, a strange date with a creepy deviant who masks his filmmaking ineptitude with the absolute sickest subject matter imaginable. I finished watching it out of curiosity about how far one can go in the pursuit of controversial fame, and I have to admit that one can certainly go much lower – for example, Human Centipede II. And I rather not speak about the third one.

The Human Centipede is a horror movie based around one idea. It may be enough for some people and at the time of it was released the idea may have shocked some people, however, at that time I successfully avoided the exaggerated hype around this movie, and when I watch it today (ten years after the first release), there is nothing that entertains or shocks me. Perhaps, at a stretch people could be entertained with the really demented behavior of all the characters and the perfectly delivered crazy acting performance of Dieter Laser. This movie is a second-rate affair.
