As a young novelist and his wife are coping with the loss of their child, their lives are turned upside down when a panicked girl appears at their home in the middle of the night with stories of masked intruders stalking her. That night, the stalkers strike, sending the couple on a horrific game of cat and mouse, where they are forced to uncover shocking details from their past that may be the reason for the attack. Static is an excellent example of a movie that is helped a lot by its ending, which manages to justify all the nonsense that has taken place up until that point (or at least most of it). To tell you the truth, for most of it the movie was pissing me off (even though it’s well executed technically), because I hadn’t seen something so irrational in a long time, and by the end I was downright sad that another competent director had signed up for a stupid script. But fortunately, the ending makes things somehow fall into place, which results in a positive impression. Solid stuff.

Static is a good albeit average American horror movie that uses family relationship drama to pull viewers in. In addition, there is a mystery surrounding what is actually going on with the individual characters. The plot development is not exactly straightforward, and in the end, you realize that you enjoyed it even though it is not very well-thought-out.
