A Vastrónon Robert Baratheon fia, Joffrey ül, bár többen is megkérdőjelezik örökségét. Robert két testvére, Stannis és Renly sem mondtak le róla, miközben Észak királya, Robb Stark a függetlenségéért küzd. Ezalatt a tengerentúli királynő, Daenerys Targaryen sem tétlenkedik. More fleshed out than the first season, with a handful of new characters. It has its pros and cons. The first season had more pace and was more dynamic. The second season, especially in the middle episodes, has a lot of dialogue filler and the pieces on the chessboard move very sporadically, if at all. Nevertheless, the new nations are fine, they will certainly speak in an important way to the events in future episodes. And finally, at the end of the season, we get to see a proper battle, which we have been waiting for since the beginning of the saga.

As a whole, I found Season 2 more interesting than the first season. I think a lot of it has to do with a greater involvement of Varys. Especially his conversations with Tyrion are a treat. One thing I like about this season is that the creators finally decided to let the audience watch some of the battles and not just observe gear being collected after it's over. I was annoyed by the endless wandering through the desert (Daenerys) or snow (Jon), and the character of Shae was extremely irritating, but despite these reservations I was pretty satisfied.
