After discovering the dead body of Bea Harper's lover, Bea's mother Lucia hides the body under the assumption that it was her daughter who killed the man. Martin Donnelly comes to blackmail Lucia on behalf of his partner Nagel and falls in love with Lucia instead. Given that the main role is taken by James Mason, although the truth is that the main character here is a female figure, I was expecting some magnificent acting performance. James Mason is great again, but the story didn't really click with me. The beginning is still good, but afterwards, it rides on a quite weak wave and the film fails to captivate the audience. The ending doesn't save it completely.
