Really, putting eight friends in a summer cottage and have them kill each other under the supervision of a deranged psychopath is not a bad idea. Actually, it’s a very good idea that a smart screenwriter could do wonders with. If they worked properly with the psychology of the characters, it could be something nerve-wrecking. Unfortunately, the screenwriter of Kill Theory doesn’t seem to have that much talent (though he isn’t a bum either) and what we got instead is a nothing but a fairly entertaining slasher that doesn’t scare, nor does it disgust with brutality, but you sure won’t get bored. I could have been more than satisfied, but the idea of a brutal psychological horror film bearing the same name slightly erodes that satisfaction. But I’m still rating it with strong three stars, though. (2009.01.28)
