I'm kind of surprised that the series made it to the third episode, but it did and it's bearable. It's clear that the Russians didn't manage to achieve the success of Frozen, because their animation is rather rounded rather than striving for perfection, but there is a story, things happen and it has decent momentum. Kids will enjoy this and maybe parents will too.

Compared to the previous installments, The Snow Queen 3: Fire and Ice has a much more complex and interesting narrative, and I was really pleasantly surprised in this respect. Sure, they could have squeezed a lot more out of it, and overall, the ending did not quite fit (although, then again, it is a fairy tale). However, I liked certain moments and twists (like the one with Rolan). I found the animation better than in the previous two movies, and the soundtrack seemed less distinctive. When I compare it with the previous installments, I actually find that I enjoyed this one the most so far, to my surprise: a very weak four stars, 6.6/10.
