Egy szegény parasztfiú többre vágyik, minthogy egész nap csak a földet túrja, szeretne megtanulni írni és olvasni. Apja ezt rossz szemmel nézi és egy nap elküldi hazulról. A fiú végül egy szerencsés véletlen folytán a király mellé kerül szolgálónak. Mindennapi feladatai közé tartozik egy különleges és jól örzött edény felszolgálása az uralkodónak, melyet tilos kinyitnia, ám egy napon mégis muszáj lesz belenéznie. (MTVA)

The fairy tale was surprisingly quite dark, and I actually enjoyed it despite frequent plot inconsistencies, which I overlook because it's a fairy tale. With all the (mainly Czech) horrors that various TV channels served me for this year's Christmas, I would almost give the story four stars, but the German comrades shouldn't have rushed the ending so horribly, which reminded me of one of the opening scenes, it was like: "Hurry up, let's have it under the roof before it starts raining." What a shame.
