A törékeny alapon álló német demokrácia a belső ellenség fenyegetésétől retteg az 1960-as évek végén, a hetvenes évek elején. A náci korszak generációjának gyermekei, Andreas Baader, Ulrike Meinhof és Gudrun Ensslin harcot hirdetnek "a fasizmus új arca" ellen: az amerikaiak vietnami politikája és a harmadik világ kizsákmányolása ellen. Céljuk emberibb társadalom létrehozása. Ennek megvalósítása érdekében a radikális eszközök alkalmazásától sem rettennek vissza. Megalakítják a Vörös Hadsereg Frakció nevű csoportot, amely háborút indít a demokrácia ellen. (SPI)
