He is not bad at all in the western, and what it is about is actually very good - a hero who simply went crazy during the war. But it is not well executed, and the film is ultimately poorly written and not very convincing in terms of acting either. It is unnecessarily complicated and it starts to get boring after a while. It doesn't evoke the necessary emotions from you.
