With an authenticity and narrative energy which can neither be planned nor scripted, JUST LIKE HOME is yet another fruitful experiment by Lone Scherfig. The heart-warming ensemble film was written from day to day, and the characters and frame story were its dramatic vehicle. The result is an intimate portrait of a number of lonely yet lovable provincial souls whose lives are intertwined in a way none of them had imagined. (forgalmazó hivatalos szövege)

The film, which does not have a central protagonist, is populated by a series of characters from a provincial town, and this inconspicuous Danish comedy tries to map a community that is typical for the Nordic way of thinking, which gave rise to the renowned model of the welfare state. As a comedy, Scherfig's film doesn't work well for me and it noticeably lacks a stronger plot. However, the characters' individual traits and their minor troubles contain a certain charm, for which I will give it three stars. Overall impression: 50%.
