Karácsony közeledtével kivágják a három mókus, Alvin, Simon és Theodore otthonául szolgáló fenyőfát. A mókusok - a fával együtt - hamarosan Los Angelesben találják magukat, egy lemezkiadó cég előcsarnokában. Az igazgató, Ian Hawke éppen most rúgta ki Dave-et, a hétköznapinak aligha nevezhető zenei ízléssel rendelkező zenészt és dalszerzőt. A bánatos fickó magához veszi a fa alatt lévő, muffinnal teli kosarat, benne az éhes mókusokkal. A három jómadár bevackolja magát Dave lakásába, teljesen fölforgatva azt. Egyetlen mentségük, hogy nemcsak beszélni, énekelni is tudnak. (RTL Klub)
