angol Everything I have heard about Tunnel Rats is ultimately true. Uwe Boll directed a purely serious film, the war is portrayed in it exactly as we expect from an action spectacle from Vietnam, and the tunnel scenes really manage to rattle your nerves. Perhaps the only thing that is not true is that it is the director's best film, because for me, Far Cry, which is action-packed and uncontrollable, still takes the lead. However, what I was not prepared for is Boll's approach to the characters and actually the entire unit. The story progresses in such a way that at times it could be mistaken for a massacre horror film. I do get under the characters' skin, but what good does that do me when they start dying one after another at a rapid pace (sometimes in a darkly humorous way)? Therefore, while I consider the film to be an okay average, I would only be satisfied if that venomous irony disappeared. ()

angol Boredom, boredom, clichés, more boredom, clichés, an interesting moment (or when the soldier's sick of something), boredom, boredom, boredom, a few unexpectedly interesting moments (how to go through a tunnel blocked by a corpse?) in a row and then a rather surprising ending. It's not a bad film, but it's not a good film either. If you sleep through the first half, you can't go wrong. ()

angol I was annoyed by the massive amount of crawling in the tunnels and some really long shots in which nothing at all happened. The attack on the American base would have been okay if the soldiers hadn't been dying in such incredibly dumb ways. But not to be only critical, the film had a very good atmosphere most of the time. During the action scenes in the tunnels, I felt like I was watching a survival film instead of a war film. ()
